Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti is a co-educational state secondary school providing an innovative learning experience where students are central in their own learning. Learners are supported to develop a program of learning that fits with their needs and is driven from their interests and enthusiasms. Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti is a place that sparks curiosity, where learning inspires a sense of awe and it is a school where you can achieve relevant and meaningful qualifications. High tech learning
Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti is commited to providing students with the most up-to-date technologies to facilitate learning. We encourage students to own or lease their own laptops, and about 60-70% of those who attend do. Even if you don't have your own computer, you can still access laptops and a whole range of information and communications technologies from our 'tech library', including digital still and video cameras, projectors, and recording equipment.
Beyond four walls
Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti doesn't look like a school built in the 19th or 20th Century because it wasn't. Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti is truly a school for 21st century learners. Students at our school aren't constrained by traditional educational conventions such as schedules, uniforms, or all-day classroom learning. Instead, students spend their time learning in a variety of environments and are encouraged to access expertise and facilities in our wider commnity. Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti supports its students to spend their time learning about and engaging in activities that pique their academic curiosity and equip them with the skills and qualifications required to succeed.

We are not a school for everyone... to make the most of your experience at Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti you need to have some interests and enthusiasms. If you have no idea at all what you're interested in you might struggle with some of the freedom and choice at Unlimited.
We are not a private school... Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti is a state school, which means we are funded by the Ministry of Education just the same way as every other state school.
We are not an experiment... Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti has been working for hundreds of students for nine years now. We are subject to NZQA and ERO reviews just like every other state school, and we have completed these with excellent results.
We are a place for students who want to achieve NCEA... our students gain New Zealand qualifications. We are proud to have NZ's top scholars at Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti, and we expect all our students to work hard towards the most applicable qualification for them.
